Founded in 2008, we are a collaborative group of theatre artists combining a variety of disciplines: physical theatre, text based theatre, puppetry arts, and visual arts.

We are dedicated to breathing new life into the theatre experience, allowing audiences to engage with the work.

Marie Saddlemire

Marie Saddlemire

Marie is an arts administrator, faculty member, researcher, and performer. Marie earned her doctorate in Higher Education Administration with an emphasis in law and public policy and spent fifteen years working in the university environment. She currently teaches graduate students in the College of Education at the University of Connecticut. As a founding member of Bated Breath she built upon her life-long passion for the theatre by transferring her skills and expertise to arts administration. Marie also expanded her research efforts to include a study on college and university arts programs in the Greater Hartford area. She has performed in a variety of campus and community theatre productions, including leading roles in Wait Until Dark and 1984.
